At Water Doctors Water Treatment Company family is extremely important!  Every employee is part of our family and we want to highlight our incredible talented “family members” in our Meet the Members Series, giving you, our readers, extended family members a deeper exploration at what contributes to our daily success.

Resilient, technical savvy and committed, these are the words that come to mind when describing Katy. Katy is second generation of the Water Doctors family, so she has been in the company business since its inception. For some time after graduating from St. Thomas with a Psychology degree she worked at a nursing home creating fun activities for the residences to participate in. Her passion for the family business and water drew her back.

Katy has had many roles in the company from in the beginning and still does to this day. She started as stamp placer and envelope licker, was promoted to answering the phones, then billing and scheduling to now she is full blown builder and sales representative. Besides Bob & Laurie Hoey, Katy is Water Doctors longest tenured employee.

Katy is passionate and appreciates providing all her clients with options of water treatment that will suite their needs, expectations and budget. She loves educating people on the importance of water treatment systems, getting dirty and scoping out the mechanical rooms and hearing how the water treatment systems has impacted the client’s lives.

When Katy isn’t geeking out over water or solving problem water, you will find her at either her home in Maple Grove with her three young kids, husband and dog or at a local nursery. Katy loves her family! She loves instilling her passion for good and healthy food with her family or staying active with playing outside or going to a local museum. If you asked Katy what she would do if she didn’t have to work, she would tell you it would spending time at a nursery. Her green thumb has blossomed, and her plant collection is quite exquisite.

We are lucky and grateful to have Katy part of the business and driving force at continuing to make Water Doctors successful and well-known brand.

What do you love most about working at Water Doctors?I work with a great group of people. Everyone has a great attitude about the job done and everyone works together. There is also so much to learn. The water treatment business always has new products and way to improve water problems.

When not geeking out over water what can we find you geeking out over?HOUSEPLANTS! I love houseplants and gardening. I love going to locale plants stores and find beautiful new finds. My kids also like to look for the “baby leaves/new growth”

What is your favorite movie or book or restaurant/meal? Sixteen candles.

What is your favorite place you have travelled to and why?  I cant choose one. Paris- the Eiffel tower at night is beautiful and relaxing. There are also so many different monuments to explore and see.

Florence, Italy- easy to walk around and explore, amazing food and shopping.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done? Ziplining in Mexico. It was terrifying.
